Has The Stimulus Money Helped You?

Has the stimulus money helped you? You can asked the experts all day and get varying answers for years to come. So, Gallup took a survey asking the American people what they think. After reviewing the results I was shocked. Shocked because when questions are asked in a slightly different way answers vary widely. Here are the questions and the results below:

When asked — Do you think Obama’s economic stimulus plan has made the economy better? 28% of Americans answered YES. 49% said the economic stimulus plan has no effect and 21% said the Obama’s economic stimulus plan has made things worst.

However when asked — Do you think obama’s economic stimulus plan will make the economy better? (keyword WILL — meaning in the future) 48% of Americans answered Yes. 19% said the economic stimulus plan will have no effect and 31% thinks the economic will get worst because of the stimulus plan.

Americans Yet to See Effects of the Stimulus Plan in Their Personal Lives

Here’s what shocked me:

When asked — Do you think Obama’s economic stimulus plan has made your family’s financial situation better? 14% of Americans answered Yes. Wait a minute, what happen to the 28%. Are people missing the boat — we are a factor in the economic. How can 28% answer yes, the economy is better and only 14% answer yes, my family situation is better. To add to my shock, 64% of Americans think the economic stimulus plan has no effect on their personal finances. And 22% thinks the stimulus plan has hurt them. There must be some kind of disconnect. If 22% of people think the stimulus plan has hurt them how does 28% of people answer the economic is better?

When do you think the economy will recover? When asked, most Americans think it will take over five years. However the experts are predicting a recover by 2010. We will see!
