What is an IP – IP stands for Internet Protocol and a unique IP is assigned to every computer connected. Common IP addresses consist of numbers separated by periods. IP addresses have classes.
Below are the different IP classes:
- IP Class A – class A IP addresses are used for large networks.
- IP Class B – class B IP addresses are used for medium networks.
- IP Class C – class C IP addresses are the most commonly used IP addresses.
- IP Class D- class D IP addresses are used for multicast.
- IP Class E- class E IP addresses are used for experimental use only.
What is a Whois – (Who IS) is a function that shows a query of whois information about a website owner. Common information supplied from the Whois database are:
- Name
- Address
- Contact Information
- Site Age
- Renewal Info
- Expiration Date …
When a Domain (IP address) is locked, domain transfer can not be performed — Website Privacy. Also with domain privacy your Whois information can not be viewed.
What is a Snapshot – A domain snapshot is an image of the website, usually there is a snapshotof the website’s home page.
