Watchmen Movie Did you know — Watchmen was a DC comic book series (12 issues from 1986-1987). The original Watchmen story was submitted by Alan Moore as an alternate history of the United State in a nuclear crisis with the Soviet Union.

Here are the Main Characters Along With the Actors Who Will Play Them In the Watchmen Movie (character back story included)

Nite Owl II (played by Patrick Wilson)

Dan Dreiberg is Nite Owl II who grab the reigns after Hollis Mason (Nite Owl) retired. Born to a rich banker, Dreiberg used his inheritance to purchase his owl gadgets and flying vehicle “Archie”. For more of the back story go to Nite Owl II

Doctor Manhattan (played by Billy Crudup)

Dr. Manhattan is Jon Osterman, son of a watchmen. After attend Princeton, works as a atomic physics when he is expose to radiant light and declared dead. For more of the back story go to Doctor Manhattan

Rorschach (played by Jackie Earle Haley)

Walter Kovacs is Rorschach born in 1940 to a women who abused him and earn her money walking the street. After becoming a ward of the state, Kovacs worked as an unskilled garment worker where he came across the fabric that created his mask. For more of the back story go to Rorschach

Silk Spectre II(played by Malin Akerman)

Silk Spectre is Laurie Juspeczyk a second generation superhero. Descend to follow in her mother’s foot step, Laurie is a liberal modern woman who secretly believes Nite Owl is her father. For more of the back story go to Silk Spectre II

Ozymanidas (played by Matthew Goode)

Ozymandias is Adrian Veidt, a modified character of Thunderbolt.

The Comedian (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan)

There are some differences in the Watchmen Movie and the Watchmen Comic Book

Nite Owl did not watch Rorschach be killed by Ozymandias.
Laurie flashback — where she drops a snow globe is missing in the movie.
Nite Owl and Rorschach crash in Antarctica and then ride to Adrian Veidt, however is the movie they walk.
