Type 1 DiabetesType 1 diabetes may have a new cure on the way.  The new hopeful cure involves to drugs already on the market used to treat some cancers.  Note: This is a study that has only been tested on mice.  In the study 80% of the tested mice  went into remission.  For more information on the study go to http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/11/081118092250.htm

If the drugs work safely in humans, this new cure could  be great news for the 1 million Americans who suffer from Type 1 diabetes.

What are the two drugs?  Gleevec, which is used to treat leukemia is one of the two drugs. The other drug is Sutent. Sutent is commonly used to fight kidney cancer.
