President Obama has a new open house policy for the White House.
President Obama said …
“One of my priorities as president is opening up the White House to the American people so that folks can understand what we’re up to and have a chance to participate themselves. I’ve also held town hall meetings around the country to get perspectives from outside Washington(ers) where people are feeling the brunt of this economic crisis; not as an abstract debate, but as an everyday reality.
Many of you are worried and have a lot of questions, and you want to know what your government is doing to get our economy back on track. You deserve those answers. That is why we are going to try something a little different. We are going to take advantage of the Internet to bring all of you to the White House to talk about the economy.
Here’s the idea: Right now at WhiteHouse.gov, anyone can submit a question about the economy and vote on other questions. We are going to compile those questions and votes, and then on Thursday, I’ll be giving you some answers myself. This is an experiment, but it’s also an exciting opportunity for me to look at a computer screen and get a snapshot of what Americans across the country care about. I’m looking forward to the results.
We may not always agree on everything, but this way I can get a sense of your concerns and give you a straight answers. So, America what do you want to know about the economy? Just go to WhiteHouse.gov and ask me.
What do you think of this idea?
Do you have a question for the President?
