Little Change Big Difference The Ban On Plastic Bags
This is my site Written by ysdata on December 9, 2008 – 7:45 pm

Plastic bagsIn November of 2007 San Francisco banned plastic bags from large grocery stores.  Since then many other cities from around the world have tried to pass similar bans.  Before the ban, San Francisco used 180 million bags each year.  San Francisco’s plan is to reduce that number by 80%.

Plastic bags are not able to be recycle.  They actual clog the recycling machines. Often, plastic bags are used once — twice if your lucky.

If every city or government pursued some policy to reduce plastic bag use and were able to get their citizens to reuse plastic bags in some degree — The impact would be huge.
